Sharp, and to the point
THE PENCIL — A METAPHOR

The pencil, the tool of doodlers, stands for thinking and creativity, but at the same time, as the toy of children, it symbolizes spontaneity and immaturity. Yet, the pencils graphite is also the ephemeral medium of thinkers, planners, drafters, architects, and engineers, the medium to be erased, revised, smudged, obliterated, lost – or inked over. (Henry Petroski, The Pencil: A History of Design and Circumstance)

Everything begins with a pencil. At the sharp end, the pencil stands for clarity, definition, conscientious attention to detail, concision and economy. At the round end is the eraser that gives the pencils marks their essentially provisional and temporary nature. Between, its lead is soft and when its marks are erased or, ultimately, inked over, they disappear without a trace.

The hand that wields the pencil is straightforward, understated and in parentheses, to the point of anonymity.

The work of the pencil is to make itself unknown.

Such is our philosophy, such is our practice. Pencil-Sharp is committed to delivering to its clients the best project management, which means tight process and logistical planning and careful management of the available resources, resulting in a simplified outsourcing interface for the client.
